Hello, my name is Finlay. I am 25 years of age and primarily focus on Drums/Percussion, Music Production, and Music Theory.

Since a young age, music has been a passion for me. I grew up in the Brass Band world, first emerging as a cornet player, before settling on drums and percussion. When I was 9, I decided that I would like to play the drums as I thought it was really cool! Since then, I have developed my skills by taking instrumental grades, and performing in many different ensembles. I participated in the county orchestras that were provided, to then taking the steps to form my own bands and to develop my skill professionally as a drummer.

During my later years studying A Level Music, I wanted to become a musician and composer for my own work in a band setting. I played in many bands, and started to develop my skills - not just in terms of my performing skills, but also from a compositional point of view.

Later on, I wanted to try some session skills as well as becoming a performing musician for many Bath-based artists such as James Harriman, and Ben Hutcheson. These bands took me around the country on tours and supporting big artists such as Toploader, and Scouting for Girls.

To this date, I am now currently playing in a function band that I helped found: Soul Reason, where I am the drummer and the producer for all of the live shows.

With my understanding and ever-developing knowledge of music that we can only ever scratch the surface of, I have a strong passion for sharing my skills, my experience, and to provide an education to those who wish to learn to play the drums.
